Are you ready to take your social media more seriously? Do you really want to up-level your social media game? My biggest piece of advice: start scheduling your social media content.
I know you’re resisting it. I know that scheduling doesn’t feel creative, authentic or inspiring. But trust me when I say this: regularly batching and scheduling my social media has changed my business.
Here are three reasons why you need to do it too!
It allows you to experience more flow and creativity
I used to be someone who posted to social media when I had some spare time. Normally this was in the evening while I was curled up on the couch with a cup of tea and my loved ones (with Masterchef playing in the background). But I found that even though I had the time to be on social media in the evening, I didn’t have the energy for it. I’d worked all day. I was tired. I’d used all of my creative energy in my work. So why was I committing this time to social media? I realised that using social media wasn’t about having the time, it was about having the energy. It was about having the space to experience flow and inspiration.
If we want our social media to be creative, authentic and inspiring then we need to be in flow. And the best way to experience this is to set aside a time to batch and schedule your content. Commit to just 1-2 hours a week and ask yourself: what do I want to share on social media this week? Give yourself the space to be intentional. And see what happens. I promise, it’s magic!
It allows you to connect and build relationships
When we talk about social media, we always think about creating content (or at least lots of the people I talk to want to jump straight to that). But that’s only part of the pie and the second half is all about connecting and building relationships. Having my content batched and scheduled means that when I do have the time in the evening or throughout my day, I can pop on social media and spend my time connecting with my tribe. This has allowed me to hugely grow my connections this year!
It allows you to be more strategic with your promotions
Do you feel like self-promotion is icky? Do you struggle to put yourself (and your incredible offerings) out there? Me too darling, me too! I feel like self-promotion is a muscle that you have to keep working on. I don’t believe it comes naturally to anyone!
Batching and scheduling has been vital in helping me to flex my self-promotion muscle. Having the space and time in my weekly schedule to work on my social media messages has allowed me to anchor into each of my offerings and feel seriously good about them. This means I can write more powerful copy to promote my offerings and be strategic about when and why I share them!
I hope this blog post has inspired you to try scheduling your social media content and see the magic that’s in store for you!
